Dr. Brainard completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Ohio State University Hospitals in 1979, where he specialized in sports medicine. Since beginning his practice of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Tampa in 1979, Dr. Brainard has been a team physician for many of the high school, collegiate and professional sports teams in the area, including 2 years as the assistant orthopaedic surgeon for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dr. Brainard has also been involved with medical education and has been a volunteer faculty at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He has a special interest in general sports medicine injuries and arthroscopic surgery.
